We've partnered with Friends of Urban Agriculture to help drive the Plot Against Hunger. Their mission is to build a resilient, community-driven urban agriculture sector that provides a fair, healthy, sustainable food system for all Arlingtonians.
"Arlington Friends of Urban Agriculture is working to support and expand efforts to grow fresh produce in Arlington. Access to fresh, nutritious produce will become an ever increasing need that can be met, in part, by growing our own food. Individuals, churches, schools, and other sites are stepping up to grow food for our neighbors in need."
We'd like our customers to help us fight hunger in Northern VA by purchasing a tray of seedlings to donate to FOUA's gardens. The seedlings will go into providing fresh produce to hungry communities.
To donate, simply choose the plant type you'd like to donate. I will plant a 6-pack of that plant for each one that gets purchased, and plants will be picked up together by FOUA in April. The more you donate, the more they'll be able to provide our community.
DONATION Plants for Friends of Urban Agriculture
Please note--these are plants to be donated to a community garden program designed to help feed hungry members of our community. You will not receive the plants.
